Even in our own marriage, God is bringing two different people and cultures together. We believe God has called us to work together to serve churches and organizations in Central and North America, acting as bridges and mentors in their partnership. God is faithful to do the work to which He has called us. Part of that work is encouraging healthy churches that are actively growing in mission that affects all of life and in vibrant international partnerships that influence their local relationships. We serve pastors and leaders by listening to, praying for, and connecting them with other pastors and leaders in Central and North America. Mission Work As Regional Connections Coaches, we mentor Central and North American organizations in their partnerships. These organizations and churches nurture, send, and connect missional leaders and communities. We will be building a trusting connection with these Resonate partners and try to know them in an effort to stabilize support from North America to Central America and to encourage North American application of Central American programs, such as trauma healing workshops. We plan to cultivate relationships with US and Canadian churches as well as Central American partners, including the Nehemiah Center in Nicaragua, Seeds of a New Creation in El Salvador, and Casa Adobe in Costa Rica. Working alongside a regional team of Resonate missionaries, we improve and implement new mission strategies in Central America, as well as participate in organizational life and activities. We plan to put our experience into practice on a regional level for Resonate while learning more about cross-cultural relationships, growing in the Lord, and serving our church, family, and friends. About Us Raúl was born in Managua, Nicaragua and grew up surrounded by extended family in Cruce las Herreras, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Managua named after his mom's family. After his parents separated when Raul was 11, he cared for his younger brother and took care of household chores while his Mom worked. Raul worked odd jobs before becoming a security guard at the Nehemiah Center for over 6 years. While working, Raúl continued his education with technical courses, a few years of university, and English classes. He began assisting Adrianna with teams and facilitating pastoral visits at the Nehemiah Center in 2017 before becoming a full-time volunteer in 2019 after their marriage in December 2018. Raúl enjoys being hands-on in his work, talking with people, carrying out projects, and driving vehicles (the bigger, the better!). He also loves cycling, hunting, watching YouTube videos, and going new places. Adrianna grew up in DeMotte, Indiana with her parents and younger brother. She attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, studying theology, Spanish, and linguistics. During her time at Dordt, she went to Nicaragua twice - first as a three week cross-cultural trip and then for a semester abroad. After graduating from Dordt in 2011, she received a master's degree in linguistics and exegesis from the Canada Institute of Linguistics in Langley, British Columbia. Doors opened for returning to Nicaragua in January 2014 as part of Resonate's Cohort of Missioners program, and Adrianna stayed on as a partner missionary serving as the intercultural facilitator and Church Friendship program coordinator until 2020. Adrianna enjoys the relational and communication aspects of her work, and geeks out over language and translation. She enjoys knitting prayer blankets, coloring, traveling to new places, watching movies, meeting with friends, and cycling. Thank you We praise God for His work around the world and the privilege of serving Him wherever we are. Thank you for your prayers, generosity and support for our ministry with the Christian Reformed Church. We are grateful to serve in Central and North America specifically. Together, by God's grace, our efforts are transforming lives and communities worldwide. Thank you.
