Sarah and Dami Aderemi

Vision and Mission

Sarah’s mission is to partner with parents as they join with God in the holistic formation of their children. While addressing the security challenges in Nigeria, a state deputy governor once said “failure in the family system has caused much havoc in society as many parents have left their roles unperformed.” Parents are the primary influencers and faith shapers of their children and yet this vital calling is often unfulfilled because parents are overwhelmed by the demanding pace of life in Lagos.  Sarah’s vision is to see spiritually vibrant families committed to loving God, loving others, and loving His creation with their whole being. 

Dami’s calling is to the comedy industry where doors have been opened to share the gospel with many de-churched and former Christians. He leads A Billion Laughs, an organization which he started to create opportunities for young comedians to earn decent wages and to use humor to address social ills like police brutality, internet fraud etc. Dami also serves on the leadership and preaching team of City Church Lagos whose vision is to catalyze a gospel-centered movement that renews the city of Lagos.

Mission Work

Her primary responsibility is building community and designing experiences that empower parents in the holistic formation of their children.  Her work focuses on building communities of parents in Christian schools, the local church and her neighborhood to support one another, learn from one another, and grow in their role as parents together. She also designs play-based learning experiences to strengthen the relationship between parents and children and develop children’s sense of identity and purpose in Christ, foster wonder, self-regulation, resilience, and agency.

In Dami’s work with A Billion Laughs, he produces comedy shows that spark conversations about the most pressing problems in our society. He also guides and sponsors young comedians in developing their craft and building their careers. Through this work,  Dami is blessed with many opportunities to share the gospel with the comedians - many of whom have become agnostics and atheists. He continues to serve at City Church Lagos through preaching, leadership, community building and spiritual direction.
