Carla Bieber

Carla is a Local Mission Leader for the Great lakes Region. She has enjoyed being a part of missional work whether on the university campus, in another country (4 years in Taiwan), or in a small church on Long Island. She is married to a CRC pastor and has six children (9-18). I love to read when I have time and hang out with my friends and family. Scott Geurink

Scott has served in ministry for 25 years with a focus on Church planting and leadership development.  The first two years he was in the Philippines, and then for 23 years he served with Christian Reformed World Missions in Mexico. Scott now lives in west Michigan, working with Classis Zeeland and the Resonate Great Lakes Regional Team as a Local Mission Leader focusing on Hispanic Ministry. Ruth Hiemstra

Ruth Hiemstra is the senior administrative assistant for the Great Lakes Regional team. She has worked in this position for the past 18 years. Contact Ruth at rhiemstra@crcna.org.

Al Mulder

A former pastor, Home Missionary, and Home Missions staff member, Al Mulder is a veteran member of the Great Lakes regional team. He gives leadership and support to church planting and development in the region, and encourages and supports diverse and inclusive church leadership. He also co-chairs Resonate’s Antiracism and Reconciliation Team, and represents the Great Lakes team to Classis Grand Rapids East. Contact Al at amulder@crcna.org.

John Mondi

John is the pastor of African Community Fellowship, where he has been ministering to African immigrants since 2009.  He will work alongside the growing number of refugee and immigrant congregations in the Great Lakes region, as well as offering cross-cultural intelligence to the traditional churches that are hosting them.  John’s church was also part of the first Go Local cohort with Resonate and is invested in helping churches learn to adapt to their changing contexts. You can connect with John at this address: jmondi@crcna.org 

Amy Schenkel

Amy Schenkel is the Great Lakes Regional Mission Leader.  She began serving Home Missions part time in 2007 while planting and pastoring a new church plant in the heart of Grand Rapids.  Since that time, she has been the Church Planting Catalyst Leader, interim Home Missions Operations Director, and Resonate US Director, giving her a variety of experiences and perspectives as the two mission agencies merged into one.  She has a passion for helping the local church be an agent of Spirit-led renewal in their communities. Scott Stark

Scott works as a Local Mission Leader. His focus area is Campus Ministry/Young Adult Leadership. He is working to cultivate holistic mission networks in and around college and university campuses that work to recruit, train, mobilize, and support young leaders in engaging their campuses and communities with the Gospel. Scott is the CRC Pastor for Campus Ministry @ Grand Valley State University, a collaborative ministry between CRC/RCA Classis Zeeland. He is also the Campus Ministry Catalyst for Campus Ministry @ Grand Rapids, a network of new and renewed campus ministries at public colleges and universities in Grand Rapids. All of these ministries focus on engaging campuses with the life-changing love of God, discipling leaders who make disciples, and building bridges to Christ and his Church. Mark Van Andel

Mark serves on the Great Lakes Regional Team as a Local Mission Leader. He is married to Kristen and has three quickly growing sons. They have lived in the Piety Hill neighborhood of Detroit for twelve years and are focusing on developing new church expressions in Detroit neighborhoods. His desire is to help equip and mobilize disciples of Jesus Christ to connect with God's mission in their communities and beyond. You can contact Mark at mvanandel@crcna.org
