Country: NigeriaServing Since: 2011DonateRegion: West AfricaVertical Tabs AboutVision We want to see Nigerian communities transformed by God’s Word being translated into their heart language. We recognize the importance of having God’s Word available. The Bible is God’s message for all people. As such, we desire to make it accessible to all people by providing it in a form that speaks to them most intimately- their own language. We seek to provide training and expertise to Nigerian Bible translators to enable them to translate God’s Word into their own languages. We believe strongly in Bible translation. This quote from a national Bible translation worker sums up why. “Nothing has the power to change lives like God’s Word. • It is the key to evangelism. • It is indispensable to church planting. • It is the basis of discipleship. • It is the foundation of an established church. • It is a giver of life, hope and peace in the midst of trials. • It is eternal in its impact. • It is the message of God’s love.” God’s Word is indeed the foundation to all of our activities as Christians. It gives indigenous churches the tool they need to grow into strong, vibrant communities that can in turn spread the Gospel to those around them. All other evangelistic and discipleship tools are grounded in the Bible. Mission Located in West Africa, Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation with over 250 ethnic groups and languages. The northern half of Nigeria is predominantly Muslim, while the southern half is predominantly Christian. Despite being rich in agricultural land, minerals and oil reserves, most Nigerians live in poverty and the country continues to struggle with corruption, the mismanagement of its resources, and ethnic and religious tensions. Ten years ago, it would not have even been possible.”CONTINUE READING January 16, 2018Translation Work Leads to Restored FaithYakubu heard Jesus speak in his own language. Now his faith has been restored. Yakubu grew up a Christian but became disillusioned with the faith when he believed his pastor was abusing his position.
