We are called to be ambassadors for God to the world and to be agents of healing wherever God leads. Historically the global mission field and the mission ranks of the CRC has been missing a vital African American presence. Sins of colonialism, slavery, and racism have lead to separation and brokeness in the African diaspora (the dispersion of any people from their original homeland); and limited access to mission opportunities. It is our desire to intentionally invite African Americans to global missions and to be agents of healing and reconciliation throughout the diaspora, our initial focus in West Africa, starting with Liberia. Mission It is our hope to open doors of ministry and build a healing bridge by: - Working with Providence Baptist Church in Monrovia, Liberia to develop and facilitate sister church relationships with churches throughout the US. - Work with universities to create opportunities for students of color to study abroad in the West African context. - Invite high school graduates to consider serving, learning and exploring ministry opportunities for one year in Liberia. - Welcome interested individuals or community groups to learn, explore, and connect ministry and/or business investment opportunities in Liberia. - Use the arts and workshops to create spaces for healing conversations through the exploration of shared history.
