Jacynthe Vaillancourt

Mission

I work with Mission Montreal, a collaborative effort of Resonate Global Mission, Diaconal Ministries Canada, First CRC Montreal, Classis Eastern Canada, and a partner ministry called Christian Direction. At its heart, Mission Montreal is about equipping and mobilizing Christians and Christian leaders to engage their culture. 

In the Census Metropolitan Area of Montréal, there are 4.1 million residents. In spite of high rates of religious affiliation as reported by Statistics Canada, we know that less than 4% of the population attend a local congregation on a monthly basis. The city is marked by massive secularity and multiple spiritual pluralities.  

Mission Montreal has three main focuses: Young Adult Formation, Church Outreach, and Ministry to the Diaspora.

Vision

Our vision at Mission Montreal is to see Christians put their faith into action.

My Role

I coordinate Mission Montreal initiatives, supporting staff who are working with newly arrived families and accompanying churches in their community engagement journey. I also coordinate Mission Montreal's work with young adults, facilitating the Urban Lab, a six-week formation for young adults. 

I am also part of the Urban Training Collaborative cross-training with other urban practitioners and formationists.
