Join a group of youth from multiple countries on a trip across three Central American countries to experience spiritual and missional formation through engagement of the culture and history of these nations alongside people working in contextualized integral mission throughout the region.

As a group composed of both North American and Central American youth, over the course of 15 days we will visit three Central American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala. In each country we will have a different focus: good integral mission practice, urban incarnational ministry, and rural grassroots community transformation.

We will be hosted by local ministries and meet with local leaders to learn about the work they are doing in their communities to meet the needs of their people in the midst of difficult realities. This is a great opportunity to grow missionally and spiritually, to meet Central American youth, and to understand the history and current context of Central America in order to serve our global neighbors who come from these countries better.

  • Complete application, interview, and pre-trip training and orientation process with Resonate staff and Central American team
  • Participate fully in the trip: ask questions of our hosts, make genuine connections, and adopt a posture of humility and openness to learn new and sometimes challenging things
  • Reflect on learning and experiences with the group and leaders through debriefing and post-trip meetings
  • Share about your experience and learning with your church at home
  • Spanish language proficiency (necessary)
  • High school or university student
  • Interest in serving in Latin America or with Latino populations in North America in the future (preferred)
  • Openness to learning about how Christian faith looks similar and different in another context (preferred)

  • Semillas de Nueva Creación: A Salvadoran ministry that accompanies churches and leaders in the development of their gifts and the strengthening of their communities.
  • Rujotay: A locally led, Guatemalan ministry dedicated to youth discipleship and creation care.
  • Cohort Central America: A year-long program of service and formation for young adults in Central America.
