About this Church Plant

Vision of My Beloved Church

Our church began as a “house church” in the Vancouver area in Canada with the dream of restoring the New Testament church. When the New Testament church  opened their homes to people to gather together, share food, and establish each home as a church, people started calling these people “Christians,” and many  amazing works of the Holy Spirit were manifested. However, when the church was institutionalized and became the church we see today, represented by a building rather than people, the work of the Holy Spirit diminished, and the church was secularized.

Just as Peter wanted to build a tent on the Mount of Transfiguration and stay there forever, so too do we often have the temptation to prioritize stability, to  remain where we are instead of moving forward in God's vision. God wants us to keep moving forward in this world, and we must resist the temptation to become complacent and continue to be a community that fulfills the Great Commission.

Our church focuses on reaching out to Koreans who are new in Canada, who have come to immigrate, study, or work. Korean immigrant churches in  Vancouver suffer from “church shoppers,” hopping from one church to the next. Churches boast of good programs and facilities to satisfy consumeristic needs. But we believe that churches are supposed to satisfy God, not people. When churches focus on meeting the needs of the people, reaching out to the lost and saving souls lose priority. As we honestly reflect on the churches, most of our meetings and events are geared toward believers only.
