Mission Montreal is a collaborative effort of Resonate Global Mission, Diaconal Ministries Canada, First CRC Montreal, Classis Eastern Canada, and a partner ministry called Christian Direction. At its heart, Mission Montreal is about equipping and deploying Christians and Christian leaders to engage their culture.
Montreal is a city where less than 4 percent of residents attend church. Rather than start something new, the CRC is partnering with a successful Reformed ministry that is already at work and shares a similar Kingdom focus. Under the direction of evangelical urban missiologist Glenn Smith, Christian Direction is working in unreached areas of Montreal to bring the light of Christ.
To see the community I work in mobilized for its own development to achieve spiritual and social transformation.
Jacynthe leads the ministry to young adults and students in the Missions Montreal partnership, with focus on Ville Marie. Jacynthe meets regularly with the francophone students at an English college, involves students in community through volunteering, and has organized a month-long street festival in an area with little green space.
Working together with the city and with other social service agencies, she and her student volunteers shut down a downtown street and convert it into an urban garden for a month, creating a place for kids to play and neighbours to meet. Jacynthe also manages a community garden with families from her neighbourhood.
In partnership with the ecumenical network and campus ministry leaders, Jacynthe also organizes an annual event for Christian unity during the week of prayer.
You can support Jacynthe's work by either providing a one-time or recurring monetary gift, or by joining our prayer list.
