Angel Venegas

My Story

God has prepared a heart to go out and be the hands and feet of a ministry that started long ago. The Giver of Life calls us to be a spark of light, no matter how big, in this dark world. I hope that I can be that light in others' lives.

I am excited to venture into a part of the world I've never been to and to do life with others in their most vulnerable. I hope to make meaningful connections and learn with those I will come into contact with. The most exciting part is that I will resign myself to the needs of others, just as God has done for me. Whether it's teaching basic English skills, handing out clothing packages, or even preparing food, I do it with the joy of the Lord. 

Mission

I will work in partnership with Eurorelief, a Greek Christian NGO which seeks to support those who are suffering in crisis situations. This organization has been active on the island of Lesvos and in the refugee camps since the beginning of the refugee crisis in 2015. I will be involved where they need me, which may include education, food sorting and distribution, social care, warehouse work, information provision, or community engagement. I hope to learn better the compassion that God has (and in turn me) towards everyone on this planet.
