Alisha Kuperus

My Story

Throughout the past year, I had been searching for opportunities to go abroad, when a pastor of a church I recently started attending mentioned missionaries they supported working with immigrants somewhere in Europe. I began searching for similar opportunities and was recommended Resonate by a friend. 

The activities of the Welcome Church and the Berlin City Mission's homeless shelter each have a mission very close to my heart, as I am passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others. In addition to being excited to learn German, I am excited to continue to be able to work in a place where my passion for working with people and my faith coincide. 

Mission

Cohort Europe offers a year-long missional experience in which participants serve in local European ministry organizations and connect with other Cohort Europe team members to learn together, support each other, and grow spiritually. 

I will serve with the Welcome Church and homeless shelter of the Berliner Stadtmission (Berlin City Mission), a more than 145-year-old Christian organization in Berlin. The Welcome Church welcomes newcomers to Berlin through language cafes for learning German and worship services in easy German. In the homeless shelter, I will be helping to provide basic necessities and building relationships with those who come. I am excited to learn the German language!
