Put together a small team of people to join with others from all over the world to minister to the needs of people fleeing from danger and war.

The government-run Mavrovouni Refugee Camp is assisted by Eurorelief which is a Greek non-governmental organization founded on Christian values which seeks to support those who are suffering in crisis situations. This organization has been active on the island and in the refugee camps since the beginning of the refugee crisis in 2015. 

Your group would need to be available to undertake any tasks needing to be completed in the camp on a day to day basis. The daily shift starts at 8:30 and finishes around 5:00. The morning meeting will detail tasks for volunteers for the day with preferences taken into account when possible.

Tasks and responsibilities vary, but may include:

  • Member care
  • Food line
  • Social care
  • Distributions
  • Warehouse
  • Information point
  • Children's education and activities 
  • New arrivals
  • Community engagement (women's center, men's center, skills area, library) 
  • Maintenance and building projects
  • Volunteer office and administration
  • Attendance at the weekly dinner and Bible study
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Good working knowledge of English
  • A willing and cooperative heart
  • A flexible and patient spirit
