Vision

Earlier this year, we felt God moving us to explore re-entry into full-time ministry. Although we had been looking at other areas in Latin America, Resonate identified a possible fit in the Dominican Republic. As many of you know, Carlos was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. His parents became Christians when their neighbors shared Jesus Christ with them. Carlos has long prayed that God would raise up workers to train pastors and leaders to study and preach the Word to believers like his parents. Recently, Carlos has felt God saying, “What about you?”

Mission

As the church in the Dominican Republic grows wider, it also needs to grow deeper. The pastors have hearts for Jesus but have not always had an opportunity to study the Word of God or learn how to develop leaders. We will learn to teach materials like Timothy Leadership Training so that we can come alongside pastors, training more leaders to care for these growing flocks.

Another part of our service will be working with teams and individuals coming on short or longer-term trips from North America.  We know the Holy Spirit uses these encounters to teach believers from both cultures to know Jesus better as their understanding of who He is becomes expanded. Other assignments may include working with IMPACT clubs; or assisting with community development, church planting and growth. 

We are thankful to join Resonate, becoming a part of the heritage of faith and service that has compelled so many others to answer God’s call. We know that the Holy Spirit is working through believers in the Dominican Republic. We will not be packing Jesus in our suitcase and carrying Him down with us. Instead, we will have the privilege of joining work that He has been doing for many years. Our prayer is that we can use the gifts and skills God has so generously given us to strengthen and complement what the church there is doing for His glory.
